"Insights into Private Equity"

This study commissioned by MPC Capital AG and Global Vision AG (funds management of MPC Global Equity Fonds) aimed to familiarize private investors with ground rules in the private equity market. The study is divided into four chapters. After a basic introduction to the topic, the following chapter "The Market for Private Equity and its Development" quantifies the dimensions of private equity and presents its future potential. The next chapter shows private investors the possibilities of a potential private equity investment. In the final chapter "Benchmarking Private Equity Returns", historical returns of private equity are compared with other investment forms and returns potentials of private equity are described for private investors.

"Capital Partnerships in the SME Capital Goods Industry in Germany"

Making the market for venture capital transparent and recognizing which forces oppose its development were the goals of this study as early as 1996. The study was conducted jointly by Mackewicz, Degen & Partner, Munich, and Baumgartner & Partner Unternehmensberatung GmbH, Sindelfingen, and the results are documented in this report.
452 interviews with owner-managed SMEs in the capital goods industry form the core of this study. Interviews were mainly conducted by telephone according to an appropriate sample without set quotas. Personal interviews were also conducted by Baumgartner & Partner and Mackewicz, Degen & Partner.

"Venture Capital and Corporate Venture Capital: Financing Alternatives for Innovative Startups and Young Technological Companies in Germany"

This study commissioned by Deutsche Telekom AG focuses on financing alternatives for young, innovative technological companies and addresses the topic of venture capital. At this time in Germany, venture capital was still considered to be an avant-garde topic.
Corporate venturing represents a special form of venture capital financing. The provision of venture capital by industrial companies is relatively seldom done. The study takes an in-depth look at this financing alternative.
(The study is available in English and German)

"The Role of Banks and VC Firms in Startup and Innovation Financing"

Although banks are often the first point of contact, they frequently refuse to finance technology-oriented investments due to technical uncertainties concerning development potential, market maturity or the interest of the innovation's target group as classical entrepreneurial risk.
In our study, we show the reasons for the banks' behavior as well as a corresponding need to act. Moreover, we highlight the weaknesses of entrepreneurs and outline improvement potentials in financing innovative ideas. Our study creates transparency in this much-discussed topic and sensitizes all those involved to the need to develop constructive solutions. In addition, we comment on the turbulent developments in the market for venture capital.

"Venture Capital in Practice - Report"

Accompanied by reports and analyses on the current situation in the VC market in Germany, this publication provides a forum for capital providers or rather public institutions and startup entrepreneurs. Of particular interest are the experience reports by entrepreneurs who take a critical look at their startup processes and how they successfully attracted venture capital.
